01.08 PROCEDURES - MEETINGS OF COUNCIL AND STANDING AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES (SEE APPENDIX "B")



Whilst meeting procedure is, in the main, set out under the provisions of the Act and Regulations, and the Code of Meeting Practice, it is desirable that Council review annually procedures fixed by Resolutions. Attached hereto (Appendix "B") are recommended procedures, together with previous policy resolutions which could also be reviewed.

01.09 SCHEDULE OF MEETING DATES (SEE APPENDIX "C")



Attached hereto (Appendix "C") is a Schedule of Meeting Dates for Meetings of Council and Standing Committees. As resolved by Council, meetings to consider planning matters will be held as and when required.

Council resolved on 4th October 1983, to schedule Council Meeting dates wherever possible to avoid school holidays. Accordingly, the only Council Meeting scheduled for School Holiday periods is the Meeting on 15th January, 1997.

Under the Regulations, the Council is required to meet at least 10 times each year, each time in a different month.

PROCEDURES REGARDING COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE MEETINGS


The Local Government (Meetings) Regulation 1993, made under the Local Government Act 1993, and Council's Code of Meeting Practice sets out various matters in relation to meetings of Council and Committees of Council, however, the following matters arise from Council resolutions.
