MAYORAL MINUTE

It is with regret that I inform the Council of the death after a long illness of Mr Horace James (Horrie) CABLE of 6 Tallawalla Street, Beverly Hills.

The late Mr Cable was a Member of Hurstville Council representing Hurstville Ward, from December 1956 to September 1971, a period of almost 15 years..

Mr Cable was Mayor of the Council in 1966. Both Mr Cable and his wife served as Aldermen representing Hurstville Ward for the 1968/1971 triennium.

During his period of service as a Member of Council, the Late Horrie Cable contributed greatly to the direction taken by the Council and ably represented his constituents.

Mr Cable was an ex-serviceman and was a prominent member of the community. He was well known and respected by all who knew him.

The Late Mr Cable is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughter Judith and son Clinton, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

The funeral service was held at St Phillip's Anglican Church, 3 York Street, Sydney. A private family cremation was held at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium. Council was represented at the funeral service by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor P Olah.
