THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HURSTVILLE

MAYORAL MINUTE

It is with regret that I inform the Council of the sudden death of Mr Allan Alexander LAWRANCE of 88 Belmore Road, Peakhurst.

The late Mr Lawrance was a Member of Hurstville Council representing Peakhurst Ward, from 5 December 1959 to 21 September 1974, a period of almost 15 years..

Mr Lawrance was Deputy Mayor in 1963 and Mayor of the Council for 1964 and 1965. He was also Council's delegate to the former St George County Council.

During his period of service as a Member of Council, the Late Allan Lawrance contributed greatly to the direction taken by the Council during those formative years.

He was a prominant member of the community and was well known and respected as a successful local builder.

The Late Mr Lawrance is survived by his wife Margaret Mercy, brother of David and Anne Lawrance (Melbourne), sister Miranda and David Griffiths (Wales UK), sister-in-law Janet Gill (Pambula), brother-in-law Keith and Jean Hart (Coffs Harbour) and their families.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been advised. Council will be represented at the service by Councillor R Swanton and the General Manager Mr H E J Wallace, both of whom worked with Allan Lawrance.

Council's condolences will be conveyed to the family.

B McDonald JP
22 February 1995 MAYOR OF HURSTVILLE
